About Global Mission

The RCA has long been radically mission-minded. For more than 150 years we have been sending missionaries to all parts of the globe, sharing the gospel through word and deed. Today that commitment continues and grows:
- In a time when many mission agencies are struggling and making dramatic cuts, RCA global mission continues to send out new mission personnel in significant numbers. In fact, our global mission program is roughly the same size as that of sister denominations whose membership is many times ours.
- Each year we send increasing numbers of individual volunteers and mission teams (work groups) all over the globe both to give and to receive, to teach and to learn.
- In 2004 alone, thousands of volunteers contributed the equivalent of millions of dollars in time, materials, and money to mission projects in North America and around the globe.

The RCA's strong commitment to mission is not a result of any program, strategy, or marketing plan It is a manifestation of the Spirit's presence within our congregations and a reflection of the faithfulness of our people to living out the Great Commission in word and deed.
