Seminary Education and Church Revitalization Location
Osijek, Croatia Partners
The Evangelical Theological Seminary in Osijek, Croatia,
The Reformed Christian Church in Croatia What Need Is God Showing Us?
Pastors from across South Central Europe are called to lead their congregations through the practical consequences and spiritual aftermath of the fall of communism and subsequent regional wars. These pastors need biblical and theological grounding to help them develop personal theologies of reconciliation and redemption. This will in turn allow them to help the members of their congregations move past the horrors of their recent experiences and move forward with the work of Christ in their societies. What Is God Telling Us to Do?
The RCA is called to stand with this strong but war-weary church as it rebuilds itself in a new society. We will do this by equipping future pastors with the theological tools they need to assist their congregations. How Are We Doing What God Is Asking?
To help revitalize congregations in South Central Europe, Eric Titus will teach seminary students and work with church leaders to explore and help implement new models of ministry. Nancy Titus will coach seminary students in writing English and edit seminary publications. Who Are Our Partners?
The Evangelical Theological Seminary is located in Osijek, Croatia, at the crossroads of Western and Central Europe. In a country that is largely Roman Catholic, it serves as the premier Protestant training institution for South Central Europe. The Reformed Christian Church in Croatia was founded in the 1550s, and its ties to the Reformation have remained unbroken. Its congregations have maintained a faithful witness to Jesus Christ and the Reformed faith through many political changes and conflicts, including two world wars and the war with neighboring Serbia following the breakup of Yugoslavia.
