Organic Outreach Training Event hosted by Corinth Reformed Church

Tenure-track faculty position in the chemistry
Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL

Position:Tenure-track faculty position in the chemistry department, starting August 16, 2015.

Qualifications:Ph.D. preferred; ABD considered. Previous collegiate teaching experience desired. Trinity seeks candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education in the tradition of Reformed Christian higher education and be competent to demonstrate to students a mature articulation of faith and learning. Faculty members are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside the classroom in advising, social interaction, and informal academic and cultural settings.

Primary responsibilities typically include courses that include labs. Although all specializations will be considered, the successful candidate will be capable of teaching a wide range of courses, possibly including physical chemistry, general chemistry and other courses such as analytical chemistry, and instrumental analysis depending on the candidate’s strengths and interests. In the first year new faculty participate in a year-long formation program beginning mid-August, 2015.

The Office of Learning Services: The OLS supports the academic success of all Trinity students, including traditional, adult studies, graduate studies, and online students. Services have traditionally included the College’s Bridge Program, disability services, peer tutoring, peer mentoring, supplemental instruction, testing accommodations, academic counseling, workshops in academic skills, supports for both transfer students with conditional acceptance and returning students with academic probation, and supports to full-time and adjunct faculty members as they make accommodations in their classes for students with unique needs.

The Director must demonstrate knowledge and experience relevant to directing an office that coordinates a variety of programs for all students. Necessary skills include oral and written communication proficiency, staff management, conflict resolution, and other personal qualities appropriate to a director’s position. As an educational institution committed to the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development of its students in the Reformed Christian tradition, Trinity Christian College requires staff members to conduct their work and lives as Christian role models. Principal
Knox Centre for Ministry and Leadership in Dunedin, New Zealand

Applications are invited for the position of Principal at the Knox Centre for Ministry and Leadership in Dunedin, New Zealand. The Knox Centre forms and trains theology graduates for ministry and leadership in the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand. This includes running a two-year internship programme for people training for the Ministry of Word and Sacrament. The Principal is both an executive leader and a lecturer. As well as having requisite skills in leadership and education, candidates should be familiar with the Presbyterian-Reformed tradition, have a proven background in Christian ministry, and have either a D.Min or a PhD in Theology. A full job description can be obtained from the Registrar at registrar@knoxcentre.ac.nz. Applications should consist of: 1) A letter of application, 2) a CV, 3) two letters of reference, 4) a draft curriculum for one of the seven papers taught by the Knox Centre (a list of the papers can be found on the Knox Centre web site at knoxcentre.ac.nz/diploma-of-ministry), and 5) a sample article or chapter of no more than 12,000 words. Applications can be submitted to the Convenor of the Advisory Board, care of the Registrar. The closing date for applications is 5 December 2014.
