The Synod of Mid-America is pleased to introduce Chad Schuitema as its new administrative and ministry leader.

The Synod of Mid-America is pleased to introduce Chad Schuitema as its new administrative and ministry leader. Chad began in December 2013, replacing Randy Kooy, who retired after working with the synod for 15 years. The position is taking a new emphasis with the addition of a “ministry leader” component that has Chad developing a ministry area of revitalization. The day-to-day synod functioning and communication will be Chad’s responsibility on the administration side. He joins with Wayne Van Regenmorter, who serves as the synod’s visionary leader and executive.

Chad is now forming and nurturing relationships within the classes of the synod, and he is looking forward “to working together with Wayne to promote and implement Transformed and Transforming.” He hopes “to watch what God is doing in the world and specifically the synod, and join him in his work; to explore together what it means for classes and churches to revitalize; and to promote the amazing things God is doing through the Ridder Church Renewal process.” Gifted in administration and with a passion for church revitalization, Chad is “excited to use the gifts that [he’s] always enjoyed using in ministry and build them even more.”

Chad’s most recent ministry has been as pastor of Community Reformed Church in Lafayette, Indiana. He has previously served as the president of the regional synod and is a part of its executive team. He has been involved in Ridder Church Renewal for a number of years and is a facilitator at Ridder events. He lives in Lafayette and enjoys spending time with his family: wife Stephanie and three sons, Elijah, Isaak, and Aaron. The synod is excited to have Chad on-board as it seeks to serve its classes and congregations.
