WorshipWhat does Reformed worship look like? Sound like? Feel like? How is Reformed worship similar to worship in all Christian churches and how is it different or unique? What themes does Reformed worship emphasize in the symphony of all Christian worship? Faithful Reformed worship is: 1. God-centered 2. A divine-human conversation 3. Personal 4. Formed by the presence of Christ in both word and sacrament 5. "Home grown" and nourished in the rich soil of the whole church
New Hymnal Needs VolunteersPlans are under way for a new hymnal for use in the Christian Reformed Church and the Reformed Church in America. The hymnal's editorial team met for the first time in February and reaffirmed that this is the church's hymnal. As such they want to listen to the church. To help in that they are soliciting volunteers to serve on an advisory committee or to be liaisons between the churches and the editorial committee. To have a good mix of people of various backgrounds, ages, gifts (musicians and non-musicians), and locations, they have developed an application form. Filling out the application does not guarantee a spot on the advisory committee but it is the first step toward that end. If the applicant is not chosen for the advisory committee, the team hopes that he/she would still be willing to serve as a liaison through regular updates. Please access and pass on this short application form to anyone in you know who might have an interest in this committee: Submission information is included in the application form. Worship in the Reformed tradition: 1. Follows a biblical pattern of sin, salvation, and service 2. Embraces both form and freedom 3. Is biblical 4. Is missional 5. Nurtures both head and heart
