The opportunity

CALTR – Faith in Action is an immersion experience that combines volunteer work, hands-on experiences, and conversations with community members. Your volunteer team will help low-income New Jersey residents fix up their homes and hear from community members who work on issues like immigration, affordable housing, mental health, refugee resettlement, and prison reentry. Through this experience, you’ll explore themes of faith, community, and action that you can carry with you into your own community.

Trip details

Accommodations:

 Volunteers will be housed at the Reformed Church of Highland Park. You will be provided with cots but will need to bring your own bedding. Two showers are available onsite and offsite.

Cost Notes:

 The cost is approximately $150 per person per week.

Food Arrangements:

 The church will provide breakfast, dinner, and supplies to pack a lunch.
