Denise Kingdom

A young child whimpers, her eyes searching for the familiar face of her father or mother. She’s an orphan of HIV and AIDS. But because of Setshabelo Family and Child Services (SFCS) in Botshabelo, South Africa, she is not among the children crying in an institutional orphanage. Instead, she’s scooped up by her foster mother. She’s embraced, comforted, and ushered into a future of hope.

SFCS works to keep vulnerable children in their own homes and to place orphans into loving foster or adoptive families. Denise works with the SFCS staff to raise awareness about family-based care and to establish family and child support ministries with area churches. Denise partners with Bethany Christian Services, Christ Memorial Church EnCompass Kids, and Maple Avenue Ministries.
