Decisions have been made on the General Synod location for 2026 and possibly 2027: Sheraton Music City Nashville Airport in Nashville, Tennessee. General Synod 2026 will take place June 11-16; dates are still being determined for General Synod 2027.
After exploring multiple hotels and locations, the Sheraton Music City met the RCA staff with very affordable prices, while also providing the meeting space needed to conduct efficient business.
“I look forward to next summer’s General Synod meeting in Nashville,” Eddy Aleman, general secretary, said. “Our events team did a great job finding a location that will support the important work of the General Synod. It’s always a blessing to be together with leaders from across the RCA, to worship God, to have fellowship, and discern the mind of Christ together as delegates make decisions for the life of the church.”
While there will be an in person General Synod in 2026, it is not certain whether there will be an in person General Synod in 2027. Proposed amendments to the RCA constitution were adopted by General Synod 2025 that would permit the General Synod to meet virtually on some years; to become effective, those amendments will need to be approved by two-thirds of the classes and declared effective by the next General Synod.
If these amendments are approved by two-thirds of the classes and declared effective by the 2026 General Synod, 2027 would be the first year that General Synod could potentially hold a virtual meeting.
