The classroom buzzes with excitement as Ana and her classmates enter the small one-room school building in their community of Zacapa, Guatemala. Ana searches for a place to sit in the overcrowded space. A rumble comes from her lower belly and Ana remembers there wasn’t enough food at home for breakfast. She tries to distract herself from her hunger by looking for her friends. The teacher calls the class to attention and Ana snaps back to reality.
