- Compassion and justice
She was only a child when a violent assault made her a mother. Her new reality is attending school by day and caring for her toddler and siblings by night—her dreams and goals taken away. Then she met Denise, who visited her school in Botshabelo Section K. Hearing her despair, Denise connected her with social workers at Setshabelo Family and Child Services (SFCS). She received psychosocial counseling, parenting skills training, and academic support. Now, her future is looking brighter.
SFCS places orphaned and vulnerable children in loving families, and works alongside churches and partners to strengthen the community. They provide support services and education for the benefit of the most vulnerable in Botshabelo, South Africa. Denise works with SFCS to raise awareness about family-based care and establish family and child support ministries within area churches.
