JJ and Tim TenClay

  • Compassion and justice

War. Persecution. Natural disaster. Whatever the cause, imagine leaving everything you know to travel to another country. Travel is difficult, even deadly. Often times, when arriving at the new country, refugees are not allowed in and are housed in poorly constructed camps. All because a mother wants education for her children. A father wants safety for his family. A grandfather wants to be treated with dignity.

JJ works with refugees and displaced people as Refugees Ministry Coordinator for RCA Global Mission. Her goal is to empower congregations and RCA entities to respond to this crisis of forced migration. In short, she wants to equip others to come alongside refugees to follow the biblical mandate to care for the stranger, the foreigner, and the sojourner.

Your gifts will provide Rohingya refugee children access to education and related supportive services through supporting eight schools in Bangladesh and Myanmar. Your generosity helps minimize the impacts of society that cause the displacement of people from their homes.
