Human Trafficking

Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery where people use force, fraudulent promises, or extortion to control and exploit other persons for profit.

Estimates suggest that there are approximately 27 million modern day slaves in the world. To put this number in perspective, the populations of Toronto, Montreal, New York City, Los Angeles, London (England) and Paris (France) is just shy of approximately 27 million people.  So many people remain hidden from the public eye.
