Residents at the Reformed Church Home (RCH), a senior care facility in Old Bridge, New Jersey, keep busy—they can participate in exercise programs, do arts and crafts, join a book club, attend classes through a learning program, and attend a variety of live music performances.

There is so much that I can share about my experiences in Israel and Palestine. 

Youth ministry director Cheryl Rozema has tears in her eyes as she describes an act of caring that illustrated the very words of Jesus.

“We were helping to feed homeless people one night,” she says, recalling a youth group service project. “And I saw that one of our boys didn’t have a shirt on—and I knew he came with one.”

The young man had taken off his own shirt, neatly folded it, and placed it on a table for one of the homeless men. The gesture echoed Luke 3:11: “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none…” (NIV).
