Beginning in 2021, resources specific to the Reformed Church in America (RCA) will be available through an online store rather than being housed and distributed through Faith Alive Christian Resources.

This move, effective at the end of December 2020, will significantly reduce both production and fulfillment costs for the denomination.

“We are eager to continue to provide excellent resources, while also stewarding our resources wisely,” says Jill Ver Steeg, chief operating officer of the Reformed Church in America. “Moving to a print-on-demand platform greatly reduces cost but allows us to continue to provide valuable materials to ministry leaders.” The print-on-demand approach means the new online store requires no inventory. When an order comes in, each item is printed at that time and shipped to the purchaser.

The RCA’s online store was launched this past summer, offering synodical resources (the Book of Church Order, the General Synod directory, and a 2020-2021 plan calendar) as a pilot project. More resources will be added over time, such as Bible studies, books from the Historical Series, and perhaps even RCA-specific merchandise, like the #SheIsCalled and #EllaEsLlamada shirts that Women’s Transformation and Leadership has popularized.

“Our most popular resources will be available on the store first, and others will be added over time,” says Ver Steeg.

Some resources, such as certificates to commemorate baptism, marriage, or membership, are available as free printable downloads, but will no longer be available to order.

The RCA’s online store will have selected resources specific to the Reformed Church in America; churches are encouraged to continue looking to Faith Alive for wider ministry resources. If you have questions about the RCA’s online store, visit the FAQ page.
