Since a violent conflict began between Israelis and Palestinians on May 10, killing more than 200 people, the world has been watching.

RCA general secretary Eddy Alemán and RCA Global Mission director JP Sundararajan joined leaders from other denominations and churches in signing a letter calling for an end to the violence. More than that, the letter calls for the United Nations Security Council to, as the letter states, “address the continuing underlying causes of injustice that will otherwise remain a constant threat to peace in the Holy Land… What is required is not a temporary ceasefire, but a permanent and lasting solution that will guarantee equality and human rights for all.”

Shortly after the letter was published, a ceasefire was announced.
