Al Raja School is a K-12 school in Bahrain with about 630 students, almost all of whom are Muslim Bahraini, though there is a small number of Christian Arab students. Offering dual English and Arabic instruction, the school aims to provide the youth of Bahrain with an education that will help them grow into strong and sensitive members of their families, their communities, and the world in which they live. Al Raja School carries out this mission by focusing on three key areas: excellence in education, development of the whole person, and equality.
One to four teachers are needed for main subject areas, including science, math, physical education, and English.
Furnished two-bedroom apartments within walking distance of the school are provided. Each apartment includes a kitchen, a bathroom, and a living room. An apartment may be shared with another volunteer of the same gender.
Food: Grocery stores are within walking distance of the apartments.
Housing, monthly stipend, and visa costs are covered. Volunteers must raise support to cover their remaining expenses. Annual costs are estimated to be about $12,000 per volunteer.

Volunteers must be certified teachers qualified in their subject area. This is a good opportunity for new teachers or teachers close to retirement who are interested in trying something different.
