Severe storms and flooding caused damage to many homes in and around St. Louis in December 2015 and January 2016. World Renew Disaster Response Services is helping these communities recover.
Work projects may include water-damage repairs, sheetrock, flooring, trim, or painting. A local construction coordinator will assign projects that are appropriate to the size and skill level of your group.
Housing is provided by churches in the area. Showers and a kitchen are available at each location, as well as cots or bunk beds. Volunteers should bring their own bedding, pillows, and towels.
Depending on the location, the cost will range from $10 per person per night to a donation determined by your group. All payments should go to the local site coordinator. Your group is responsible for all costs associated with your trip. World Renew DRS does not charge for arranging group mission trips.
Please bring sleeping bags, pillows, towels, and toiletries. A general packing list can be found on page nine of Preparing to Serve, a guide compiled by World Renew DRS. Materials and basic tools are provided and coordinated by the local construction coordinator. Skilled tradespeople are encouraged to bring their own tools if possible. This should be discussed with the local site coordinator during the planning process.
