A candidate for the Lead Pastor position should have a history of significant leadership responsibilities, preferably in a large church. Leadership of Corinth Church Ministries

  • Provide visionary and directional leadership of the consistory (elders and deacons), the executive committee, and the church staff.
  • Oversee and encourage the multiplication of leaders, ministries, and volunteers by developing and empowering the staff and lay leadership of the church through teaching, leadership, and vision development.


  • Provide primary preaching at a majority of the Sunday worship services.
  • Establish a preaching schedule and provide content direction for the pastoral staff and guest preachers.
  • Work with the arts and programming teams to make sure worship services follow a consistent biblical theme.

Pastoral Care and Counseling

  • Make emergency or crisis calls in partnership with the Pastor of Care.

Evangelism Ministries

  • Ensure that the evangelistic temperature of the church remains high through regular preaching, teaching, training, and modeling a lifestyle of personal evangelism.

Lead worship team and congregation with passion and excellence for Christ on Sunday mornings. The candidate should have an ability to balance preparation and organization with an ability to hear and follow the Holy Spirit in worship. Also, the ability to skillfully lead with piano or guitar as well as vocals is expected.

The desire and leadership ability to recruit, nurture, train, and lead musicians, vocalists, other volunteers. He/she should be an effective communicator and should be comfortable working in a team environment, supporting the direction of church leadership while contributing new ideas and providing resources to grow the worship experience.

Worship Director

The Worship Director reports to, works with, and is accountable to the Lead Pastor. The Worship Director is responsible to lead the congregation in worship. The Worship Director is responsible for training and shepherding worship team members and overseeing the worship portion of services. Worship Director experience in a medium size church; production experience. 

1. Worship Services 

  • In corroboration with the Lead Pastor, select songs and arrangements for worship services that convey the gospel message. We currently have one service on Sunday morning, but would like to see additional services added. 
  • Promote an inter-generational worship atmosphere through music selection, a unique mix of hymns and current worship songs. 
  • Oversee all areas of production; including audio, lighting, presentation slides, service management, equipment maintenance and online presentation.

2. Worships Teams

  • Empower and encourage instrumentalists, vocalists and production team members.
  • Provide the music and song sheets each week in the online Planning Center.
  • Shepherd staff and volunteers serving with bands and production teams.
  • Coordinate song lyrics with the production team.

3. Additional duties and responsibilities

  • The Worship Director will also be responsible for another area of ministry, which could take 25-35% of their time. The second area of ministry will be determined by the gifts, abilities and passion of the person hired.
  • Work alongside the Lead Pastor in the long term planning of sermon series.
  • Attend regular meetings with leadership teams.
  • Lead worship for special services.
  • Will lead and/or oversee the choir.
  • Willingness to coach youth worship teams.

FLCC has been under the leadership of a Senior Pastor for the adult Taiwanese/Mandarin speaking ministry the past 7 years since 2010.  The Senior Pastor has since retired and the position is now vacated.  The church celebrated its 30 years as a congregation in northern NJ in 2014 and has a unique presence in the Taiwanese-American community.   In addition to the Taiwanese and Mandarin speaking adult congregation, there is also an English Ministry.  FLCC is financially sound, supports several missionaries and wants to continue to grow both ministries.  The church is a member of the Reformed Church in America (RCA) denomination.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Words and Sacraments
  • The Senior Pastor is a full-time pastoral position that has the responsibility of developing and supervising all ministries of the church, the goal of which is a Christ-centered ministry that builds up believers, trains disciples for the ministry, and equips the congregation to reach others. 
  • Preaching and teaching the Word of God, performing the Sunday service and administering the sacraments.
  • Agreement with the doctrine, aims, and purposes of the Reformed Church in America denomination including its Statement of Faith (see www.RCA.org for more information).
Outreach and Discipleship
  • Ability to inspire and challenge the congregation with the exposition of God’s word, to teach and to lead in the study of Scripture, to answer questions from non-believers, to disciple new believers, and to work alongside and encourage more mature believers to shepherd the congregation.
  • Partner with the congregation, church leaders and volunteers to seek opportunities to outreach to the Asian-American community.
  • Disciple and strengthen existing coworkers, and to recruit and develop new co-workers.
  • Will develop and oversee nurturing ministries.  Will have direct one-on-one ministry contact with all congregation members on an on-going basis.
  • Will work closely with the FLCC Consistory to organize programs to enhance fellowship between both the adult and English congregations.
Consistory Board and Administrative / Reporting Duties
  • The Senior Pastor will work with the FLCC Consistory and its various committees as they perform their assigned responsibilities and listen to their counsel to provide spiritual leadership.  Will attend and chair the monthly Consistory meetings; and will participate in the RCA regional classis committees, national conferences and related activities, provided such activities do not hinder his / her responsibilities to the congregation.
  • Will lead the church in planning, conducting and evaluating a comprehensive Christian Education program (i.e. Sunday School, Bible Study, etc.).  Will recruit, train and encourage lay leaders in planning and carrying out evangelism, discipleship and nurturing ministries.
  • Will be accountable to and evaluated by the Consistory Board holding a common goal of building church unity across all ministries.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Seminary graduate with Master of Divinity degree from an accredited school, college or university with coursework to include biblical and theological training.
  • Minimum of two years of pastoral experience.  Experience may include internship, mission work, or other full-time or part-time ministries.  Sensitivity to issues in a multicultural, multilingual, and multigenerational congregation is essential.
  • Ability to lead by example and is humble serving with effective interpersonal skills, capable of inspiring group leaders and members to work together.
  • Has developed appropriate administrative skills; particularly that of prioritizing in planning, organizing, executing and delegating staff and lay leaders in such a manner that develops a spirit of team ministry. 
  • Ability to preach to adult and senior congregation in Taiwanese or Mandarin and is able to converse in Taiwanese and English.

First Reformed Church, located in a rural, tight-knit community just a few miles from the beautiful Missouri River, is seeking a full-time senior pastor who will provide spiritual leadership to our church and serve as the primary minister. Children’s Ministries Director

I.  YOUTH MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES including but not limited to:

  • Oversee and lead the High School & Middle School Ministries in a Christ-honoring and youth-appealing way that helps them grow as disciples of Christ.
  • Plan, organize and facilitate regular group meetings, service opportunities and occasional fundraising and social events. Publicize events effectively to parents, youth, the church and community.
  • Organize participation of the middle school youth in CIY Believe, clearly communicating all information for youth and families, and organizing travel to and from the conference.
  • Plan and organize a week-long high school youth summer mission/service trip or camp experience.
  • Oversee annual Youth Sunday service.
  • Arrange and promote opportunities for youth to participate in the worship services.
  • Recruit and train (as needed) volunteers to assist with youth group meetings and events.
  • Meet with youth individually and attend their life events as appropriate.
  • At least once per year, discuss with the whole group the significance to making profession of faith, and encourage those who have not yet done so to give serious thought to taking this step.

II. WORSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES Including but not limited to:

  • Plan Sunday and special worship services which will resonate across generations and artistic styles.
  • Communicate with the Pastor, Worship Team and staff in planning worship services. Ensure Sunday logistics and details are fully prepared (order of service, production notes, audiovisual elements, audio and tech support and all other parts and participants in the service).
  • Oversee the Praise Team, Organists, Pianists, Musicians, Sound Team, Video Team and Worship Team.  Recruit, retain and develop volunteer worship team members to fill the needs within American Reformed Church music ministry.
  • Provide regular opportunities for training and workshops for musicians and other key participants in worship, equipping them to lead worship effectively.
  • Cast vision for worship at American Reformed Church. Promote a sense of team responsibility for ministry goals and completion of tasks. Lead regular and timely rehearsals, communicate with musicians and organize the groups.

III.  QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Required personal and professional characteristics

  • Have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Master of his or her life
  • Be committed to and promote the mission, vision and core values of American Reformed Church
  • Be an ordained* Pastor in RCA* (or formula of agreement church)
  • Be a regular attender and actively involved in the life and ministry of American Reformed Church
  • Possess a love for pre-teen and teenagers and a passion for discipling them in the way of Jesus Christ.
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively, and be comfortable leading Bible studies and small group discussions with youth.
  • Have a love for the worship of God and a delight to help the body of Christ worship corporately.
  • Be proficient in singing and playing piano or guitar with the ability to lead while playing.
  • Be committed to ongoing personal and vocational growth.
  • Have strong organizational skills, creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities.  Be self-motivated.
  • Be able to work well with people


  • Meet monthly with consistory.
  • Meet with executive committee as requested.
  • Completed criminal background check upon hiring and annually
  • Preach approximately once a month.


  • The Pastor Of Youth and Worship will be hired by and accountable to the consistory. He/she shall be directly supervised and annually evaluated by the Personnel Committee. Evaluations will take place twice yearly.


  • Salary and housing will be in accordance with Mid-America Regional synod guidelines.

The American Reformed Church is located in northwest Iowa and is seeking a full-time pastor to minister to and with its congregation of approximately 140 parishioners. Originally given this name to encourage the community to think of us as something other than the “Dutch” church, today we are enriched by members that come from a variety of denominations and backgrounds. We try to meet the needs of believers which have not been met in other churches.

Executive Pastor

Church or Organization: Calvary Reformed Church

The Executive Pastor will have responsibility for day-to-day operations of Calvary Church as delegated by the Lead Pastor. He will serve as the primary connection between the Senior Pastor and the core ministries of Calvary Church. The Executive Pastor will oversee procedures, policies of the church, as well as providing leadership training and teaching for the church. This leadership will come from:

  • A personal commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
  • A mature faith and steadfast character.
  • A reliance on the authority of Scripture and prayer.
  • A sense of calling to an “equipping of the saints.”


  • Support the Lead Pastor in the accomplishment of the church’s mission through ministry effectiveness, evaluation, discernment, decision making, planning, and overall direction of church staff.
  • Lead, support, and empower the staff in the establishment and ongoing direction of ministries that effectively reach the community, insuring the accomplishment of the church’s mission. 
  • Champion the development of infrastructure and systems by all ministry and support areas that supports healthy, long-term growth of the church and can be clearly understood by staff.
  • With the Lead Pastor facilitate strategic planning processes including evaluation of ministry performance, review of mission, vision and core values, and development of key short and long term objectives and tactics.
  • Participation in the leadership of Calvary Church by serving on key teams such as the Ministry Elders and Calvary Leadership Team.
  • Ability to serve as a member of the pastoral staff preaching 6-8 times a year, visiting with members of the congregation to provide guidance and support as needed and officiating wedding and funerals as assigned. 
  • Other duties as assigned and developed in the life of the church.


  • Gives evidence of a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ; demonstrating the biblical qualities of I Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9 and I Peter 5:1-5 with integrity, humility, responsibility, teachability and servanthood as a gracious and loving pastor
  • Commitment to Reformed theology
  • Believes, accepts and supports Calvary’s Mission
  • Demonstrated executive level experience leading a growing organization/ staff. 
  • M-DIV/ Commissioned Pastor or Marketplace Minister with equivalent theological education or calling

Our historic church has been conducting services continually since being organized in 1837 and is the oldest Reformed Church west of the Allegheny Mountains. Worship is still conducted in the beautifully restored, original two-story building completed in 1841. Sharing the shady one block area where the church stands is a modern Fellowship Hall with pastor's office. A lovely four bedroom parsonage, built in 1999, is across the street.
