Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. Segment and define target audiences and audience segments and corresponding messaging for targeted campaigns
2. Conceive, develop, and manage marketing programs and materials for ReFrame Media, including
      a. Developing marketing procedures, plans, and schedules for promoting ReFrame and component brands, titles, and programs.
      b. Developing press relations plans, relationships, and materials for appropriate industry press and online reference sites
      c. Writing promotional materials, ministry letters, press releases, and other copywriting and editing
      d. Developing and executing cross-promotional and potential advertising campaigns including print & online ad placement
      e. Developing tools and processes and oversee writing and editing of personalized email newsletters for all ReFrame projects
3. Develop, build, implement, and review database-driven structured campaigns, such as
      a. Personalized welcome-sequence of emails to promote rapid participation
      b. A re-invitation series for lapsed users
      c. Calls-to-action for active users
      d. Periodic email newsletters from ReFrame or ReFrame programs
4. Develop procedures for randomized and differentiated testing among constituents of content, designs, and approaches to media projects (i.e., A/B testing)
5. Evaluate, plan, and lead our presence at events and trade shows
      a. Oversee the development and distribution of giveaway and other premium items.
      b. Planning and executing special promotional events for appropriate constituencies
6. Represent ReFrame in media and in person, respond to audience activity and feedback
7. Manage marketing relationship with marketing vendors and other marketing teams within BTGMI and the CRCNA
8. Manage overall marketing funds, planning, negotiating, and purchasing materials within set limits
9. Track, analyze, and report on appropriate statistics in order to provide formative feedback to the program streams
10. Research and participate in other business development opportunities and partnerships with other NPOs, churches, and businesses
11. Any additional tasks as assigned.

Worship Director

PRIMARY TASK
To equip, encourage, develop and grow a culture of discipleship and ongoing faith formation for all ages at Third Church through visionary leadership, teaching, curriculum development, coordinating ministry teams and volunteers, and providing strategic oversight for all faith formation ministries.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of and have a commitment to the Reformed faith and its historic creeds; be committed to the Mission, Vision and Values of Third CRC and have experience with and appreciation for intergenerational faith formation. A seminary (MA/MDiv) or graduate study in education is preferred; open to both ordained or non-ordained persons. The candidate must become a member of Third Church within the first year of service.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Encourage and instill a vision of faith formation at Third shaped by the values of “I Belong”, “I Know and Understand”, “I Have Hope”, and “I am Called and Equipped” matrix developed by the Faith Formation Office of the CRC; collaborate with ministry staff and church leaders to incorporate these values across the spectrum of all of Third’s ministry.
  2. Develop goals, outcomes, and milestones for faith formation for all ages that intentionally move people to the next steps of following Jesus. While some ministries may be age specific, seek to create an environment that is intrinsically intergenerational, supporting the church community in its entirety, ensuring that all age levels are invited and included in the life and work of Third Church.
  3. Recruit and develop ministry leaders who are well-discipled and thus can disciple others (volunteers) well; equip, train, and empower ministry leaders—providing learning and growth opportunities; assist leaders in forming schedules, healthy communication patterns, and other administrative details.
  4. Develop healthy habits and clear patterns of communication and engagement with congregants which supports and celebrates living out our faith in Christ.
  5. Ensure that all teaching materials and programming are age-appropriate and compatible with Third’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
  6. Provide leadership oversight for ministries designed for spiritual formation of youth—middle and high school ages.
  7. Oversee the selection of, coordinate, lead, and supervise three age appropriate faith formation ministry teams (children, youth, and adult) to create and oversee a ministry calendar and plan for all faith formation activities. Also, regularly review and evaluate ministry events, frameworks, methods, curricula, etc.

  • Facilitating Third’s engagement to develop a life-long calling of mission, (Micah 6:8, Acts 1:8) nurturing and growing our missional hearts by developing events and educational opportunities; recruiting and meeting with members to help them find an area of personal mission focus (locally, nationally, and/or internationally); evaluating volunteer experience with ministry partners; regularly interacting with and evaluating existing partnerships with ministry partner organizations.
  • Mobilizing our deacons by providing training, suggesting opportunities, and connecting them to our outreach efforts—especially locally.

2.      Coordinate—With the deacons—distribute benevolence, mission budgeted funds and approved Ministries/Discipleship Funds where appropriate, to support local and global mission efforts based on need and according to strategy developed.

  • Help to educate and equip Third members to love our neighbors well: identifying needs and matters of justice within our community and helping to meet them.
  • Plan and implement a calendar for short and long-term local and global mission opportunities and events, i.e., Kid’s Hope, Winchell neighborhood outreach, Jesus Loves Kalamazoo, Karin Medical Clinic, etc.
