Season of Prayer before General Synod 2024

All RCA pastors, leaders, and members are invited to participate in a season of prayer leading up to General Synod 2024, taking place June 13-18 in Tucson, Arizona.

At General Synod, delegates will seek to discern the mind of Christ together on a number of matters, including the proposals of the RCA restructuring team. 

“As General Synod president, I would like to invite the family of God into a month-long season of prayer in anticipation of the upcoming General Synod,” says Rev. Judy Nelson. “As we continue in the process of discerning God’s will for the future of the Reformed Church in America, it is important that we stay attentive to God’s Word and the Spirit’s movement amongst us.”

Daily prayer emails before General Synod

With daily Scriptures (drawn mostly from the Psalms) and with brief prayer prompts, this email series invites a daily discipline of prayer and discernment. Emails will be delivered beginning in mid-May.

Third Friday prayer gatherings on Zoom

From February through May, RCA pastors, leaders, and members are invited to connect for a 45-minute time of prayer to pray for the work of discernment that will happen at General Synod. These prayer gatherings take place on the third Friday of each month on Zoom. Remaining calls are April 19 and May 17, from 2:00-2:45 Eastern time. Anyone with a heart for prayer is invited.
