Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL

Trinity seeks candidates for faculty positions who are professing Christians and committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.  They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education in the tradition of Reformed Christian higher education and be competent to demonstrate to students a mature articulation of faith and learning.  Faculty members are also dedicated to personal involvement with students outside the classroom in advising, social interaction, and informal academic and cultural settings. 

Position: Tenure-track combined administrative/faculty position as DEAN OF EDUCATION PROGRAMS, starting summer 2015. 

Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred; ABD considered. At least five years of experience teaching in K-12 settings required.  Administrative experience and/or higher education experience preferred.  Trinity seeks candidates who are professing Christians committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Prospective faculty members should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education in the tradition of Reformed Christian higher education and should be competent to demonstrate to students a mature articulation of faith and learning.  They should also be committed to being involved with students in contexts beyond the classroom.

Responsibilities: Serve as the unit head for the teacher education program for traditional and adult studies undergraduate education programs. Lead and coordinate assessment and accreditation actions, the preparation of annual reports, and program/curricular changes.  Serve as chair of the education/special education department. Partner with the Dean for Graduate Programs in curricular areas related to the Masters in Special Education. Teach courses in area of expertise. 

Compensation:Rank and salary commensurate with experience.  Benefits include health insurance, pension, life insurance, and disability insurance.

Time-line: The committee will begin reviewing applications March 16, 2015, and continue until the position is filled. Desirable start date is mid-summer 2015.

Position: NURSING FACULTY POSITION as SIMULATION LAB COORDINATOR

Full time faculty position starting August 16, 2015.  The department of nursing offers a professional program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Qualifications: A master’s degree in nursing is required; a doctorate in nursing or a related area is preferred. Knowledge of high fidelity simulation equipment and maintenance strengthens the application. Current licensure as a professional nurse in Illinois, or eligibility for, is required.  Clinical experience in nursing and the ability to work in the lab and supervise students in the clinical setting is required.  Successful experience in teaching at the baccalaureate level is desirable.

Responsibilities: Management of simulation lab facility.  Prepares and maintains equipment for students and faculty.  Instructs department faculty on simulation equipment and other technology such as Elsevier Simulation Learning System Assists with validations and integration of simulation scenarios including scenario development for nursing courses in the BSN curriculum.  Completes lab set-up and preparation for classes as planned with faculty.  Provides and supports practice opportunities for students. Supervises the lab student workers.

There may be responsibility for teaching the classroom and/or clinical components in area(s) that match expertise. Faculty members have additional responsibility for student advisement, college and department service, and scholarly and professional achievement especially in the simulation arena.

Position: NURSING FACULTY POSITION with EXPERTISE in MENTAL HEALTH

Term or full-time tenure track position in the Department of Nursing, beginning August 16, 2015.  The department of nursing offers a professional program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Qualifications: A master’s degree in nursing is required with a concentration mental health with ability to teach in a second area of specialty: adult health or pediatrics; a doctorate in nursing or a related area is preferred.  Current licensure as a professional nurse in Illinois is required.  Clinical experience in mental health and the ability to work in a second course/clinical area is required.  Successful experience in teaching at the baccalaureate level is desirable.

Responsibilities: Responsibility for teaching both the classroom and clinical components in mental health and another nursing area. Faculty members have additional responsibility for student advisement, college and department service, and scholarly and professional achievement.

Compensation: Rank and salary commensurate with experience.  Benefits include health insurance, pension, life insurance, and disability insurance.
