The opportunity

Situated in the poorest congressional district in the country, Mott Haven Reformed Church shares the grace of the Lord with its community by helping transform the youth and young families in the South Bronx neighborhood. Children’s Haven and the Mott Haven Initiative for Children of Incarcerated Parents (MHICIP) work to bring healing and hope to children of incarcerated parents, as well as increase community awareness and engagement. In order to expand its outreach to families impacted by the cycle of incarceration, Mott Haven is renovating space in its building that was previously occupied by another ministry.
Key Scripture: Nehemiah 2:18b, “‘Let us rise up and build.’ So they strengthened their hands for the good work.”
Volunteer Quote: “Thanks for the opportunity to be part of something so much bigger than ourselves.I know that we were supposed to be there to bless you but boy I’m thankful for the blessings that we walked away with.” -Pastor Dave Prill
