Why I Do Not--and, Why I Do--Support the Belhar Confession
At the 2009 General Synod, the Reformed Church in America approved the Belhar
Confession as a new doctrinal standard of the church. According to RCA order and
government, the Belhar Confession is now sent to each classis (the local assembly)
where two-thirds of them must approve it. As those votes take place, and sibling
denominations discuss and evaluate Belhar, we offer two perspectives on it. The
Belhar Confession can be read at www.rca.org/BelharConfession.
