As Charlie pulls open the doors of Center of Hope in his hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, his heart is heavy. With minimal income, feeding his family is difficult. His old truck broke down and now he’s unsure if he will be able to keep his job. As he sits down with Center of Hope staff, he’s conscious that he’s been wearing the same clothes for over a week. But today, Charlie has a glimmer of hope: he’s getting a bike to help him get to and from work and the food pantry. After praying with staff, Charlie leaves with the assurance that there are people who care and that God will never leave him or forsake him, regardless of his circumstances.
The Center of Hope staff shares the hope and peace of God’s love in Sioux Falls through holistically addressing the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of individuals through winter clothing distributions, a bikes-for-work ministry, the care center, faith community nursing, and pastoral calls.
