Latin America

Phil and Olivia Iekel

  • Compassion and justice
  • Education and leadership development

In a quiet corner of bustling Managua, Nicaragua, the staff of Engineering Ministries International Nicaragua (EMI) gathers for morning devotions. They set the intention of their day, embracing the values of design, discipleship, and diversity, before working on CAD drawings for a missionary training school in Mexico or catching coffee with an intern while they study the Book of Luke.

For communities, churches, and Christian ministries across Latin America, EMI offers professional design expertise for development and building projects where resources are otherwise limited. EMI desires to see people restored by God and the world restored through design. Phil serves as the Office Director and, along with Olivia, leads the office to grow EMI’s vision for ministry.
